With our economy in the crapper more and more people will be turning to web conferencing to reduce the need to travel for meetings. Imagine being able to look at a sample of a product you are producing half way around the world in China. Now, web communication is nothing new. You can chat with your friends or business vendors over AIM or Google Talk, but he only problem is that this is a one-on-one conversation unless everyone is in the room with you.
In the fast moving world of multiple off-site locations and virtual offices, dimdim offers free web conferencing for up to 20 users. Now of course there’s a catch for the free service or else they wouldn’t be in business. You can only have one user displaying the video while the other 19 are watching and communicating with each other. Now imagine the same situation where you’re producing a product in China, while you at home and your warehouse in Georgia are able to see the product and discuss shipments and packaging.

1I want to suggest you try http://www.showdocument.com – its an alternative tool for dimdim that allows document sharing and web meeting in real-time. all the participants in the session see each others’ drawing, highlights, etc. It is free and requires no installation.
